Meet Alta Medical IndigoWrap: A New Nighttime Compression Option
Alta Medical is introducing IndigoWrap, a nighttime compression garment with an easy-to-adjust wrap design. The company calls it “a new era in nighttime compression.”
According to Alta Medical, IndigoWrap brings together more than 30 years of nighttime garment expertise with a design created for comfort, flexibility, and ongoing fit adjustments as patients’ needs change.
The designs that stand out to me
My two favorite designs in the IndigoWrap range are the whole-leg and arm-to-hand garments. What stands out to me is the combination of broad, adjustable straps and finger loops. The loops provide a place to grip during adjustment, while the individual straps allow the fit to be tailored around the contours of the limb, with clinician guidance on appropriate compression.

My first experience with IndigoWrap
As a specialist, I received a sample of IndigoWrap ahead of its release and had the opportunity to evaluate it firsthand.
What stood out most was my initial experience using it on a severely fibrotic leg. Within an hour, I observed softening of the fibrotic tissue and improved skin mobility, with no skin irritation observed during that trial.
These were encouraging early observations. At this stage, I am focusing on the tissue changes I observed rather than making claims about swelling reduction. I look forward to evaluating the garment further and sharing additional findings as my experience grows.
Choosing nighttime compression
This was an observation from one individual trial, not a formal study. Results and skin tolerance may differ from person to person, and choosing a nighttime compression garment should involve an individualized assessment with a qualified clinician.
